Curious Cat

I realize that out of everything I’m supposed to be saying here, this is the last thing I should be leaving out… but aside from being swamped with work, there’s just so much I can and should say about this contest that I don’t even know where to begin.

It all started with me randomly auditioning in front of Play club in Wellington St. (LKF) - I wasn’t even sure whether or not I was going to do it until I actually did it. There were over 70 people who auditioned that night (Wednesday), and I got a call (Friday) that I made it to the top 20.

I won’t even bother explaining every little detail of it, but Sunday I dragged a few friends (Felipe, Alex, and then Kuba and June) to accompany me to rounds 2 and 3. Round 2 was an on-the-spot interview asking me to say in front of the camera (I only got 1 try) why I should be the next Hong Kong correspondent for Fashion One TV and what it means for Hong Kong now that Fashion One TV is here. I blabbered on about having a curious mind and how it was important for the job, and how Fashion One’s presence in Hong Kong would cement the city’s place as a ‘world fashion capital.’

Round 3 comprised of each contestant standing in front of everyone and doing her own 15 second spiel for the camera.

After this round, everyone had to assemble in front of the judges (sound familiar?), and each girl who made it to the next round was called one by one. It felt so America’s-Next-Top-Model, it was awesome. Well, not the part where I wasn’t called, of course (roll eyes), but it’s pretty cool to have been “eliminated” in an actual reality show. Too bad there wasn’t an exit interview in which I could say, “those b*tches don’t know what they just lost..” ha! :))

You can view the video compilation of the auditions here, and of my audition here.
