a week late, but because I feel so bitter for missing out on dressing up this Halloween (insanely jealous of everyone’s pictures back in Hong Kong), I’m posting a picture of my costume last year just to feel as if I celebrated somehow.

Just got home from Attica with Nina and Carla. They’re dragging me into participating in a Dating Game next week, and since there’s no backing out for Carla, she won’t go down without bringing me along! :|
This is what I look like tonight with 17mm (bigger than the standard 15mm) brown contacts! Creepy or cool?

Who me?

You’re actually talking to me?

My name? -

And you want to know my name too

Well it’s Jonathan

But don’t bother telling me yours

Yes, I know who you are - Julienne

You’re 5’4 and your favorite color is

Well you don’t have one

That’s just the thing

You’re way too interesting to have one

Your eyes are brown though

Saw them once

When you sat across my bench

Skimming through your calculus book

Which class you held

In the building across mine

On the 3rd floor

I was on the 2nd

Always looking up

Hoping to catch you dillydallying

Hoping to catch you

But I never did

Not even a glance

But that day on the benches

I saw your almond eyes -

The way I’ve always wanted to see them - seeing me

When you looked up from your book

Only to catch my glance

Okay fine

My stare. - It was a stare

And I saw them - brown as they were

It seemed to be your theme

Brown so was your skin

Golden though

As you were

The first time I ever saw you

Funny, I know

No?

Sad?

Okay

Sad and alright, maybe a little funny

*flight 5J679 bound for Shanghai now ready for boarding

But it could be different you know

I could be the man of your dreams

As you are mine

I’m still waiting to catch you

If only you’d fall.

Happy Halloween!
I spent All Hallow’s Eve in Ponti dressed as - can you guess? - the Angel of Death. Halloween proper (October 31) was spent at Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar (Bagac, Bataan) with the Carlos Clan. That place is truly something Filipinos can be proud about. A remaking of history and genuine preservation of heritage. More on that in coming posts.
It’s also the first time trick or treating was practiced in our village, Paseo de Magallanes! My sister and I bought lots of candies and made 28 mini-lootbags for the kids who trick or treated here :) Too bad we weren’t here to see their happy faces after giving them candies, and too bad Gru wasn’t here to be dressed up in doggy costume and showered with affection by them!
And last but not the least, I am so happy with the shoes I’m wearing in this picture. It was a last minute purchase after going to Philippine Fashion Week last Saturday in theMall of Asia Complex. I was looking for combat boots-inspired heels, and voila! They were perfect!!!! And much, much cheaper than their counterpart at Aldo. I was trying to pose as an angel who just landed on earth, but I wasn’t able to get the effect I was aiming for =/

"you, the great confidant. the robin to every batman, the satellite to every planet. you're a bright star shining behind the shadow of another. a great spectacle of magnificence dying to be discovered. a great enigma it is that no one cares to notice. that none dared to see through and beyond the lines and your flaws. a brilliant dancer waltzing away alone with little people who dared to watch.
