A few months ago, after starting my job, I was looking for books in the PolyU library to read, disappointed to find they didn’t have anything by George R.R. Martin. I wrote an e-mail to their purchasing department, on the off chance that they’d actually have a budget for such trivial requests, but today I just found an e-mail that went like this:
