The last Boat Party of this summer
As promised, with much delay, the boat trip entry -
The title was ripped off from the facebook event page that Mariam created. And that’s not all I’m ripping off from that event page, either. Here’s some more:
Hola Preciosos,
Its almost end of the summer and I haven’t been on a boat party - clearly this must be rectified. Hence, you’re all cordially invited!
I’m sure everyone’s been to more of these things than I have so your suggestions are welcomed. I’ve talked with the same company that did Nor’s, cos I hear that boat party was a resounding success.
You know the drill:
Its between $200-$250.
We’ve got 25 spots - get in contact with me and I’ll give you the deets for the money transfer to confirm your spot.
Food: We’re thinking pot luck. I’ll take care of the real food. Please bring snacks and drinks.
Im totally psyched so you should be too!
Cheers,
M

The day began (literally) in my bed at Cheung Sha Wan where I forced myself to get up when Justin texted that he was on his way to the Diamond Hill MTR station. I rushed to meet him there, and, with a couple of bananas and my staple bottles of water and Vita Iced tea in tow, we took the bus to Sai Kung.
Shockingly, we were the last ones to arrive and everyone was just waiting for us before getting on the boat. I think this is the part where I should say I’m embarrassed for keeping people waiting :| So sorry..
Anyway! Here are the few pictures I was able to take when I actually remembered the purpose of bringing a camera with me:

passed by some kayakers

the Pinoys - Alyanna, Justin, Micah, and I :)

UBS girls Heejin, Liz, and Mei Shan - Heejin’s visitor from Korea is the one further back on the right, who gamely gave in when I pushed the mic at her when the Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” came on the karaoke system! Props for representing! haha!)

Last picture (photo credit goes to Zulfiye) - here’s one of me right before a group of us went wakeboarding. I don’t think I’ve ever swallowed so much filthy sea water in my entire life. I was naturally the worst at it amongst the five of us, but to give me credit, I was able to stand for like 3 to 5 seconds on my very last attempt (I had to push myself real hard that last time because everyone else had been able to do it properly while all I had been doing was to drown myself).
I’m quite proud about that, given that it’s insanely difficult to get up from a horizontal position in the water. Also, two out of five of us had already wakeboarded before, while the remaining two (excluding me, I mean) are experienced snowboarders. It’s my way of comforting myself, I know, but doesn’t it make sense?!
I actually wrote about this trip right after it happened (here), but very briefly.
In other news, I’ve moved flats! Just transferred everything yesterday from CSW to TST (Tsim Sha Tsui), and am currently trying to organize everything. I have wayy too much shit, and to think my room is half the size of my previous one, practically.. my stuff are spilling out of my room and into the living room right now. Such a headache trying to figure out where to put all my clothes :| I hope my new flatmates aren’t too pissed at me for that. I’m planning to make a trip to Ikea later for some storage management ideas… I have a scary feeling everything will end up under my bed, or worse, on my bed (nooo..!).
And now, time to take a shower and unpack some more! Enjoy the last of the weekend, everyone!
xx
