Curious Cat

I did my first Art Jam ever in Hong Kong Tuesday last week for work with the students. The idea of the whole thing is to “give a painting room for everyone.” So basically you just get in there with unlimited paint, paintbrushes, an easel, a palette, etc. and paint your heart out. It was fantastic. I chose to do a replica of Edvard Munch’s ”The Scream,” a favorite of mine that I had already done back in high school (that one was brilliant, modestly speaking, with nail-scratch-like-effects and everything, but my dad lost that painting in the process of intending to frame it). This one is a much more toned down version, but I’m still pretty happy about how it turned out. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the final product, but it’ll probably turn up in the blog sometime in the future. I still have no idea what to do with it (should I give it as a present to someone or should I hang it up in my flat?). Also, somewhere in my house in Manila, is a half-finished attempt to replicate Salvador Dali’s La persistència de la memòria (The Persistence of Memory)… it remains to be completed. (I blame the ants).

life of Yeni

"you, the great confidant. the robin to every batman, the satellite to every planet. you're a bright star shining behind the shadow of another. a great spectacle of magnificence dying to be discovered. a great enigma it is that no one cares to notice. that none dared to see through and beyond the lines and your flaws. a brilliant dancer waltzing away alone with little people who dared to watch.
