taken last week - can finally start wearing these kinds of clothes as Hong Kong is getting colder by the day.
This morning I went down the elevator to go to work and saw a carpenter working in the lobby. After moments of pondering (I disposed of the trash meanwhile), I decided to abduct him to help me drill my shelves into the wall in my room. I couldn’t wait a week longer for the other cable-carpenter guy to do it, because, seriously, my room is just one whole storage disaster. So right now he’s installing my shelves+hooks (yay!) and my room will be one step closer to my princess-living standards.. hahaha
In other news, I have another special guest coming this weekend… my sister! Yipee! (I don’t really say this word in real life..) So excited for that. I can’t decide on whether to go to Macau on Sunday (will it be excessively crowded?), or to one of the trails/islands in Hong Kong (dragon’s back, maybe?). A lot of people I know are heading to Shenzhen, but I can’t be bothered to apply for a China visa, although I would love to see Guangzhou for the first time. I’ve only just applied for and have gotten my Japan visa; queued up are my UK and US visas… alas, my life is a series of one visa application after the other.
And with that, let’s get this weekend started! Enjoy your Friday night, everyone! ;)
UPDATE: Oh my God! I took like an hour of the carpenter’s time and effort but he refused to accept any kind of payment from me! Except for a cold can of coke which was not even mine (it was my roommate’s).. I’m gonna go get him some lunch now..
UPDATE #2: Damn! He’s escaped! I went down to buy him lunch but he’s nowhere to be found :(( Maybe tomorrow I’ll see him and return the favor (!)
PS. My new shelves and hooks look fabulous!!!!! I am so damn pleased with this
I just got this e-mail from the office - WTF!!!!! I have to get a VISA now! Why does Taiwan have to take this out on ALL Filipinos?!! ugh.
*POST NOTE: Just called the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines - I can still use the temporary electronic VISA I got before this whole issue exploded! Thank God for my timing.
**leaving for Taipei on 25 February!
